The Communications Coordinator is a creative, organized, and detail-oriented professional responsible for developing and managing content in support of the mission, vision, and priorities of the St. Gregory the Great Family of Parishes. This position designs graphics, captures photos, writes, edits, and proofreads content for use in digital and print mediums. The Communications Coordinator leads the production of the weekly parish bulletin, email newsletters, and social media strategy, and reports directly to the Director of Communications.

The St. Gregory the Great Family of Parishes includes three churches and two schools: Guardian Angels parish and school, Immaculate Heart of Mary parish and school, and St. John Fisher parish.

The Community of the Good Shepherd is currently taking applications for a part-time (15 hours a week) Coordinator of Sacramental Preparation and Children’s Liturgy of the Word. The primary function of this position is sacramental preparation for the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, and First Eucharist. This position is also responsible for the Children’s Liturgy of the Word program.

Major responsibilities for this position are listed below.

  1. Provide/lead Baptism instruction, schedule Baptisms, schedule presiders for the Sacrament of Baptism, schedule of coordinators for the celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism.
  1. Schedule teachers for Children’s Liturgy of the Word, supervise the program on Sundays and prepare reflections for the children.
  1. First Reconciliation: prepare the calendar for classes, host Parent and Child Dinner as well as give a talk, prepare two workshops for the children, supervise volunteer teachers, plan the First Reconciliation service as well as secure additional priests for the service, assure that all children are baptized members of the parish, and that they are adequately prepared for reception of the sacrament.
  2. First Eucharist: preparing the calendar, hosting parent and child dinner and giving presentation, preparing for three separate First Eucharist groups (each group has one workshop, one retreat, one practice and one celebration), supervise volunteer teachers, planning liturgies, assuring children are adequately prepared for reception of the sacrament, tutor special needs children in their sacramental preparation, and secure supplies necessary for workshops and retreats.
  3. Schedule assisting priests for Reconciliation Services during Advent and Lent.
  4. Provide backup for weekend Mass help.

This position requires good communication and organization skills, knowledge of Theology of Sacraments, Mass, liturgies, and experience with public speaking. A certificate through the Archdiocese and experience teaching children are desired. This is a part-time position, 15 hours a week working in an office environment.

St. Ignatius of Loyola Church is seeking a Coordinator of Sacraments for Youth. Primary functions of this position include: coordinate the reception of sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation each year for approximately 240 youth of the parish. Catechize young children who wish to become Catholic, and periodically review the baptism and marriage preparation programs for continued relevance.

The Coordinator of Alpha & Young Adults (AYA) reports to the Managing Director of Evangelization (DE) and is a key member of the Evangelization Team. The AYA is a person who is passionate about introducing people to the love of Jesus through radical hospitality, and accompanying individuals along their journey of discipleship, ultimately helping people become missionary disciples.  The AYA can engage individuals directly, as well as coordinate, train, and lead groups of volunteers in the work of evangelizing at the earliest stages of the discipleship pathway.  The AYA will also set out to create and implement a strategic plan to engage young adults and provide opportunities for them to grow in faith with one another.

The AYA should have a strong working knowledge of Alpha and its charisms.  This person should be a team player, who understands ministry in a large church context, a self-starter, reliable, detail-oriented, and driven who is excited to join a growing Catholic community with a vibrant culture. The role will require a firm understanding of our parish mission, vision, and adult discipleship pathway; and will require frequent collaboration with the Coordinator of Marriage Enrichment.

Eastside Catholics — St. Cecilia, St. Mary Hyde Park, and the Oratory of St. John Vianney & St. Anthony

Eastside Catholics is seeking a mission‑driven Coordinator of Catechesis to lead pre‑evangelization efforts and oversee initiatory catechesis for adults, children, and families across our Family of Parishes. This full‑time position supports our evangelization mission by coordinating sacramental preparation, leading catechetical programs, and accompanying parishioners as they grow in faith.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and implement catechetical and evangelization programs
  • Oversee OCIA and serve as liaison to Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
  • Lead the Family of Faith program for parents and children
  • Coordinate First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation
  • Teach monthly OCIC classes for children preparing for sacraments
  • Collaborate with St. Cecilia and St. Mary Schools on catechetical initiatives
  • Assist with seasonal liturgical events and parish evangelization efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Theology (or related field), Theology minor, or formal theological study
  • Minimum 3 years in parish Religious Education, Faith Formation, or Sacramental Prep
  • Strong communication, organization, and public speaking skills
  • A collaborative spirit and a strong personal prayer life
  • Commitment to the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church

Schedule: Includes evening and weekend responsibilities with flexible scheduling.
