St. John the Baptist (a Family of one Parish) is seeking a full time DIRECTOR OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION. The primary function of this position is as follows:

The Director of Religious Education and Youth Ministry provides youth leadership and direction regarding Liturgical ministry services for the parish and school, faith formation, and sacramental preparation and other functions as assigned by the Pastor.

Major Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and administration for religious education and youth ministry activities
  • Leading the school liturgical ministry program
  • Managing sacramental preparation for school and parish youth programs

Key Skill, Knowledge and/or Abilities

  • Demonstrates capability to carry out administrative and supervisory duties in a timely fashion, utilizing good communication and relationship skills
  • Participates in ongoing formation and educational opportunities to keep current on trends in catechetical ministry
  • Must be an active member, in good standing, of the Roman Catholic church
  • BA in Theology/Religious Education or a related educational field and/or a certificate in ministry or theology from a Catholic institution of higher learning

CHURCH OF THE NATIVITY OF OUR LORD, Cincinnati, OH has an immediate opening for Cantor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leads the congregation in song: hymns, psalms, responses and mass settings.
2. Sings occasional vocal solos for preludes, offertories, and meditations.
3. When necessary, sings descants and harmony with the adult choir.
4. Attends rehearsal prior to singing at Mass, Thursday 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
5. Attends Mass prepared with the correct music, in appropriate attire, and at the appointed time.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have a pleasant singing voice; formal vocal training is preferred but not required.
2. The ability to read music.
3. Comfortable singing both traditional and contemporary music.
4. Available to sing at least once a month. Mass times are 5:15 PM on Saturday and 11:00 AM on Sunday.

This is a paid position and reports directly to the Director of Music Ministry.

Saint Francis of Assisi and Incarnation Parishes in Centerville Ohio are fast growing parishes with talented and energetic volunteers and staff serving approximately 4,000 families. We are seeking an Associate Director of Youth Evangelization (9th-12th Grades). This position is full-time with a regular but flexible schedule, working 40+ hours per week. The Associate Director of Youth Evangelization will serve as a member of pastoral staff and is responsible for High School Youth Evangelization, including mission trips, retreats, weekly gatherings, Confirmation preparation and formation, and other faith formation efforts at Saint Francis of Assisi and Incarnation Parishes. The definitive aim of such evangelization and discipleship is to put people not only in touch, but in communion and intimacy with Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is to equip high school youth and their families to encounter Jesus Christ through a lifelong process that encourages them to become missionary disciples in the world.  The Associate Director of Youth Evangelization is a person who is a fully initiated and practicing member of the Catholic Church. Primary responsibilities are as follows:
Provide receptionist services for the parish office, answering phone calls and greeting/assisting parish visitors in a professional and friendly manner; provide secretarial and clerical services to the pastor, business manager, pastoral associate and key parish leaders; provide sacramental recordkeeping services for the parish; coordinate and schedule volunteers in the parish office; compile requests for bulletin articles and inserts; prepare and oversee distribution of weekly Sunday bulletin; prepare other publications as needed. Qualifications for the ideal candidate include:
Effective written and verbal professional communicator (Bi-lingual), English/Spanish. Working knowledge of and skill in using computers and office software programs, specifically Microsoft Office products (including Publisher), although additional training will be provided as needed; must be adept in creatively laying out copy for bulletin and other publications; must have ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters. Working knowledge of Gabriel software program is preferred but not required.

The Parish Assistant is responsible for various duties involving both administrative and accounting facets of the region. Below is a short, but not comprehensive, list:

  • Receives and places telephone calls, schedules appointments
  • Manages parish records and schedules intentions for Masses
  • Manages venue reservations and keys for the region
  • Performs significant amounts of data entry
  • Manages records retention and production
  • Assists with bookkeeping procedures
  • Other tasks as assigned by Business Manager

Candidates must have excellent communication skills, organizational abilities and be adept in Excel and comfortable with learning a variety of database and website applications. Some experience in basic accounting concepts is preferred.

St. Philip the Apostle in Morrow is seeking a part-time Music Minister to serve as organist/pianist for weekend Masses, Holy Days of Obligation and other special liturgies, such as funerals, weddings and reconciliation services.

This individual will collaborate with the Pastor, Pastoral Council and Pastoral Staff to implement plans associated with Beacons of Light. There may also be occasions where the music minister will meet with the Music Director at St. Francis de Sales in Lebanon (our sister parish in the family) to plan special liturgies and/or liturgical seasons. Understanding of the liturgy of the Mass and working with the liturgical calendar and scriptural themes is strongly preferred.

Candidates should be comfortable with playing music for the liturgy and working with a cantor and choir, and will likely involve choir practice one evening a week.

The position would entail approximately 10 – 15 hours per week. Weekend Mass times are Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. The occasional funeral is generally scheduled at 11 a.m. during the week.
