As Manager of Alumni Relations, you will be part of a team responsible for executing the school’s development strategies and practices, with a particular focus on managing the school’s relationships with its valued alumni.

This is a part-time position limited to 20 hours per week. Most of the hours are very flexible, but some of the work will be on evenings and weekends.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work with the development team to create and manage a comprehensive plan to engage, cultivate, and serve our alumni population:

○ Liaise with and advise the Alumni Association and attend their meetings

○ Actively and aggressively work to ensure information in our alumni database in Raiser’s Edge is updated and expanded and keep records of all contacts

○ Provide content for the monthly Alumni & Friends Newsletter

○ Work with the development and communication teams to provide social media content related to alumni and school stories that would appeal to alumni

○ Work with communication team to ensure alumni events are on the calendar and properly promoted

  • Identify and guide class leaders to plan and coordinate 5-year landmark reunions (about 12-14 per year) usually in the late summer or autumn
  • Collaborate with the Annual Fund Manager and Alumni Association to establish class captains to increase alumni participation in the annual fund and/or Alumni Scholarship Fund
  • Plan and execute two or three on-campus reunion events during the football season
  • Organize various alumni functions to increase alumni engagement (e.g. alumni golf league, alumni bowling league, alumni social gatherings, 50th reunion luncheon with students, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the Development Coordinator to record and acknowledge alumni deaths, marriages, births, and other significant life events
  • Maintain various lists of alumni groups: military, religious, deceased
  • Attend weekly Development Office meetings
  • Attend on-campus and off-campus events, as appropriate (approximately five events per year are “all hands on deck” and may require night and weekend work)
  • Assist with prospect research and refer major gift prospects to the Director of Development and/or major gift officer(s)
  • If possible, be a conduit between faculty and students for alumni who can become mentors, class presenters, career day attendees, etc.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Development

SKILLS 

  • A strong sense of fundraising ethics and practices and respect for confidentiality of donor information
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional and empathetic approach
  • An ear for stories and a real appreciation of people (alumni) from all walks of life
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player willing to collaborate on new ideas and development efforts to optimize results for the organization

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Education and demonstrable work experience in communications, sales, or service
  • At least two years of relevant experience in an educational environment, non-profit, or corporate organization
  • Some knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software or other customer relationship management system
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Alumnus with existing relationships in the McNicholas community is highly preferred

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work with the development team to create and manage a comprehensive fundraising plan and appeal schedule for the annual fund:

○ Set dollar, participation, and qualitative goals and performance metrics
○ Create and implement strategies to attract, retain, and grow donors and gift amounts
○ Create and manage a calendar/schedule of multidimensional appeals that leverages a variety of media (e.g. electronic solicitation, direct mail appeals, face-to-face solicitations, events) to communicate with potential and current donors
○ Spearhead special fundraisers (e.g. days of giving, call centers) working in collaboration with development and communications staff

  • Employ similar strategies and tactics to grow corporate matching gifts and gifts through the Archdiocese’s Scholarship Granting Organization
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Alumni Relations to establish class captains to increase alumni participation in the annual fund and/or Alumni Scholarship Fund
  • Coordinate the gift entry and acknowledgment process with the Development Coordinator to ensure timely recognition of gifts and a consistent, accurate record of giving
  • Draft and coordinate annual fund solicitation and acknowledgement letters and provide notes for the President to personalize thank you letters
  • Analyze results of the annual fund by tracking progress from year to year and work with the Director of Development and Finance Office to generate reports and statistics for Sales Team and Development Committee meetings and for the annual report
  • Attend weekly Development Office meetings and bi-weekly Sales Team meetings

Grades 7-8: Teacher/Part-Time: Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori is seeking a part-time Middle School Religion teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.  We are looking for a faith-filled, team-oriented individual to implement a religion curriculum for our Middle School program (grades 7 and 8).  Curriculum standards follow Archdiocesan guidelines and compliment the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program implemented in PK-6th grade.  The MS Religion teacher will work with our Middle School guides in building religion and faith formation into the curriculum.  The schedule is set for Monday 11am-12pm; Tuesday 8am-12pm; Wednesday 11am-12pm.
Candidate must be fully certified by the Archdiocese through the Vocare system, follow Archdiocesan guidelines for safe environment training and pass a background check.  Montessori experience is not required.
