This month’s WORD OF LIFE features Reflections on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary August 15, 2025 (Holy Day of Obligation).  The Solemnity of the Assumption celebrates the Blessed Mother’s entrance into heavenly glory where she shares in the glory of her Son’s Resurrection, anticipating the resurrection of all members of his Body. As always, there is also a SPANISH version available..

2 | Respect Life Month Kits

Every pastor is being mailed materials for Respect Life month. They will receive a letter from Archbishop Casey, Bishop Thomas, chairman of the Committee on Pro-Life Activities, prayer cards and posters for each parish, and a link to all the USCCB materials available related to Respect Life Month, which you can also access at RESPECTLIFE.ORG/RESPECT-LIFE-MONTH.  The letter encourages the use of these materials, plus participation in the RESPECT LIFE FUND on October 4-5, and in the OHIO MARCH FOR LIFE on October 3.

3 | September RL Leader Gatherings

Mark your calendars for our next Respect Life Leader gatherings, coming up in September. Come to share best practices with others doing the same work in neighboring families, and hear what the Office for Respect Life Ministries is doing to support you in your work. September 4 (Sacred Heart of Jesus, McCartyville), September 11 (Immaculate Heart of Mary, Cincinnati), September 18 (St. Francis of Assisi, Dayton), and September 24 (St. Ann’s Groesbeck, Cincinnati). 4 | March Training Save the Date, March 7 and 14

The Office for Respect Life Ministries and the Center for New Evangelization are teaming up for a day-long training just for Respect Life Ministry leaders. We will offer various breakout sessions on things like running a Walking with Moms in Need group in your family, pro-life apologetics, or working with pastors and recruiting more volunteers. Details and locations are still being worked out, but mark your calendars for Saturday March 7 in Cincinnati and Saturday March 14 in Dayton.
