The month’s WORD OF LIFE includes an article on CATHOLIC CARE FOR THE SICK AND DYING, a 2-page handout on RESOURCES ON END OF LIFE CARE, and more. As always, there are weekly intercessions for life, bulletin quotes and suggested downloads for each week. There is also a SPANISH VERSION available.

2 | Respect Life Award Nominations

Every year, the Respect Life Award honors someone in the Archdiocese who demonstrates how we all must spread the Gospel of Life. Do you know someone who you would like to see win our Archdiocesan Respect Life Award? Our most deserving individuals cannot win if they are not nominated!  Submissions are due Friday, November 15th, 2024. The award will be given out at the Respect Life Mass at 10AM on January 19th, 2025. Click HERE to see requirements and nominate someone who is deserving of this award!

3 | End of Life Resources

Humans perhaps naturally fear death. However, as faithful Catholics, we trust that death is not an end, but a step in our journey to life with the Creator. The call of a faithful Catholic concerning a holy death is two-fold. We must prepare for our own deaths as well as ensure that those around us are able to die with grace and peace. Understanding Church teaching in regards to death and dying helps us to approach the final stage of mortal life with confidence that it too is a response to grace. Check out our resources on our END OF LIFE page, including information on extraordinary vs. ordinary care, artificial hydration, organ donation and links to acceptable forms for advanced directives.

4 | Solemnity of Christ the King Resources

The Solemnity of Christ the King was instituted as a means to counter the strong pull to eliminate Christian influence from political life. The Solemnity of Christ the King is a fitting moment in the liturgical year to promote the Church’s teaching on religious freedom. Check out these resources containing a NOVENA, LECTIONARY NOTES, and a SOCIAL MEDIA GRAPHIC available!
