St. Clement Parish in St. Bernard (Cincinnati) is seeking a full time Parish Director of Faith Formation.

Overview of Position:

The Parish Director of Faith Formation is responsible for parish Faith Formation from birth to death through the lens of a family perspective. The Faith Formation goal is evangelization to accompany families (of all sizes and dynamics) through a discipleship path, so that they encounter Jesus and become missionary disciples in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement a comprehensive approach to faith formation with an evangelization lens and in the spirit of St. Francis to meet the needs of families of all sizes and dynamics throughout the liturgical year
  • In collaboration with the pastor and staff, plan an annual calendar of programming and formational opportunities
  • Articulate a clear vision/mission for lifelong formation with a family perspective through the lens of evangelization to parents, youth, staff, and parishioners
  • Provide a variety of faith formation opportunities for persons of all ages using a family perspective through the lens of evangelization and Franciscan Spirituality
  • Recruit, form, equip, send, and accompany catechists and families through sacramental ministries of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, Baptism, First Communion, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation. Resource the pastor, deacons and lay volunteers in the area of marriage ministry
  • Children and Youth including the Parish School: Evaluate and implement curriculum and supplemental curriculum available for youth programs to best meet the needs of the youth and their families, in compliance with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Graded Course of Study for Religion
  • Oversee the marketing and advertising of programs and events under the umbrella of Faith Formation and Evangelization
  • Conduct program evaluations and assessments to determine effectiveness of initiatives and refine efforts (including the evaluation of volunteers and direct reports)
  • Coordinate registration and collection of fees for programs
  • Support the Worship Commission especially in the area of sacramental celebrations and faith formation on liturgical seasons

Candidate Expectations:

  • Must complete and maintain compliance with all Archdiocese of Cincinnati Safe Environment policies
  • Must complete a background check
  • Must participate in continuing education and formation. This can be accomplished through events such as:
    • VOCARE
    • National Organization for Family, Evangelization and/or Catechesis
    • Local Organization:  CREA (Cincinnati Religious Education Association
    • Archdiocesan workshops and webinars
    • Personal retreats, Days of Reflection
  • Highly recommend staying connected to and collaborating with the family ministers of the surrounding parishes, as well as utilizing opportunities offered by the Center for the New Evangelization for networking, fellowship, and training

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Strongly prefer a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry, Religious Studies, Theology, Religious Education, or related field, or commensurate ministry experience.
  • Must have spiritual maturity, defined as a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church who is faithful to the Magisterium, consistent in one’s prayer life, regularly receiving the sacraments, and able to speak of one’s relationship with Jesus
  • Must have a broad understanding of and ability to articulate Church teaching in pastoral ministry
  • Must have experience mentoring and accompanying adults at different stages of the discipleship path
  • Must be able to pray in front of and with others, to lead and participate in spontaneous prayer
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people using the spoken word, both within one-on-one coaching/apprenticing situations and in large group settings
  • Being Biligual English-Spanish would be a HUGE asset to this position that serves St. Clement School which has one-third first generation families from Latin America and a growing parish number of parishioners who are first generation families from Latin America who regularly worship, seek sacraments and faith formation at St. Clement

Working Environment:

This position requires frequent evening, weekend and off-site work.  It also includes essential collaboration with pastoral staff, parish organizations, the school, volunteers and nearby parishes.

St. Leo Parish has an immediate opening for a Custodial/Maintenance Worker.  This is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits, with a five day work week that includes an occasional evening or weekend. Successful candidates must be able to pass a background check and be in compliance with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Decree of Child Protection program (SafeParish).

Major Responsibilities & Regular Activities:

  • Assures all parish buildings are maintained in a clean and orderly manner
  • Performs daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual cleaning duties
  • Performs preventive and repair maintenance of the facility as directed
  • Provides facility-related support to staff and ministries as needed
  • Provides other general assistance as needed, e.g., sets up tables and chairs; lawn care and snow removal as required

The Director of Family Evangelization is responsible for all efforts to accompany families so that they encounter Jesus and become missionary disciples. The Director emphasizes the mission of the family to guard, reveal, and communicate love through initiatives that strengthen marriage and the family, also known as the Domestic Church.  This is a full time position with weekend and evening work that will report directly to the Pastor.

  • Create and implement a comprehensive approach to evangelization for families, taking into consideration the need for mentorship in participating in the mission of the Church
  • Articulate a clear vision/mission for family evangelization to parents, youth, staff, and parishioners, including oversight of youth ministry volunteers
  • Implement a family catechesis model for the family of parishes that equips parents to fulfill their role as the primary formators of their children in the ways of the Faith
  • Highly recommend staying connected to and collaborating with the family ministers of the surrounding parishes, as well as utilizing opportunities offered by the Center for the New Evangelization for networking, fellowship, and training
  • Strongly prefer a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry, Religious Studies, Theology, Religious Education, or related field, or commensurate ministry experience.

St. John St. Saviour Parishes in Deer Park, Ohio is seeking candidates to fill the position of Director of Parish Music.

Candidates must be proficient in organ and piano, able to sing, and have a good knowledge of the musical tradition of the Catholic Church. The Music Director is responsible for playing at all parish liturgies, directing parish choirs and cantors at Mass as well as other liturgies as needed.  The Music Director attends staff and planning meetings, is a member of the parish Worship Committee and reports to the pastor. Position may be either part time or full time.

Start date is July 1st 2022. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
