The Business Manager and Administrative Assistant is vital in supporting the overall operations of the parish office. Through a variety of secretarial and administrative duties, the office manager provides support to the Pastor, Pastoral Staff, as well as the parish community. They are the first point of contact for parishioners. Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are required. In addition, comfortability with computers and applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher is a requirement.
Other desired qualifications include flexibility, creativity, attention to detail, and ability to multitask. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepares, administers and reviews budget
- Maintains accuracy of all financial files and records, and establishes a responsible cash flow management system
- Answering telephone calls and greeting visitors
- Maintaining and operating the parish database system
- Producing the weekly bulletin
- Keeping accurate records of gifts and sacraments
- Overseeing the maintenance of the cemeteries
