Position Summary

Corryville Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher to serve in an elementary classroom from August 2026 through early October 2026. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction, maintain continuity of learning, foster a positive classroom environment, and support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth during the teacher’s leave.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Deliver daily instruction aligned with school curriculum and provided lesson plans.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Ability to work effectively with elementary-aged students.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.

Preferred

  • Valid Ohio Teaching License.
  • Previous elementary teaching or substitute teaching experience.
  • Experience working in diverse educational settings.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based literacy and mathematics instructional practices.

Dean of Students

Position Overview
The Dean of Students at Corryville Catholic School plays a vital role in fostering a safe, structured, and joyful learning environment where all students can thrive. Rooted in the school’s mission, this leader is responsible for cultivating a positive school culture, supporting student behavior and attendance, strengthening family partnerships, and coaching staff to ensure consistent, high-quality classroom environments. In the absence of the Principal, the Dean of Students serves as the central point of administration, ensuring the building operates smoothly and all systems and expectations are upheld.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Positive School Culture & Student Experience

  • Design and implement school-wide culture systems that promote positive behavior and student engagement
  • Lead incentive programs that recognize and celebrate student achievement and character
  • Plan and execute school-wide events that build community, reinforce values, and enhance student experience
  • Partner with staff to ensure consistent expectations and a joyful, structured environment across all settings

2. Parent & Family Engagement

  • Build strong, proactive relationships with families through consistent and positive communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for behavioral concerns, ensuring timely, clear, and solutions-oriented communication
  • Partner with families to develop plans that support student success, both behaviorally and academically

3. Attendance Monitoring & Intervention

  • Track daily student attendance and identify trends impacting student learning
  • Implement attendance interventions, including family outreach, meetings, and action plans
  • Collaborate with school leadership and external supports to improve student attendance and engagement

4. Student Behavior & Code of Conduct

  • Enforce the school’s Code of Conduct with consistency, fairness, and a focus on student growth
  • Assign consequences aligned to the Code of Conduct and ensure proper documentation of incidents
  • Lead restorative conversations and interventions that promote accountability and character development
  • Maintain accurate behavior records and analyze data to inform school-wide supports

5. Classroom Culture & Teacher Support

  • Support teachers in building strong classroom cultures through coaching, modeling, and feedback
  • Assist with the implementation of behavior systems and classroom management strategies
  • Partner with instructional leaders to align culture systems with academic priorities
  • Provide real-time support during challenging student situations to ensure continuity of instruction

6. Student Support & Interventions

  • Develop and implement tiered behavior interventions for students requiring additional support
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions based on data and outcomes
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and external partners to ensure a holistic approach to student success

7. School Operations & Supervision

  • Support daily school operations, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, and transitions
  • Ensure systems are in place for safe, efficient, and orderly routines
  • Maintain a visible and active presence throughout the school day
  • In the absence of the Principal, assume leadership of the building, serving as the central administrative point of contact and decision-maker

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education or Leadership preferred
  • Experience in school leadership, student culture, or behavior management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
