The Pastoral Center is seeking the right candidate to fill the position of HR Consultant. The HR Consultant will assist the Director of Human Resources in providing leadership to parishes, schools and AOC offices regarding their HR needs and legal requirements and foster a positive work environment based on Catholic values and principles. Within the Human Resources Ministry, the HR Consultant will work with the HR Director when requested, and with key policy and advisory groups to identify strategies that address problematic employee issues that increase legal risks to parishes, schools and the Archdiocese. The Franciscan Sisters of the Poor is seeking an experienced Administrator to oversee the operations of the St. Clare Campus in Cincinnati. St. Clare Convent is home to approximately 25 Sisters. A staff of nurses and nursing assistants are directly employed by the Sisters to provide 24/7 nursing oversight and care for those who require it. Dining, housekeeping and other assistance is provided by in-house staff. The Sisters’ convent is a private residence, not a licensed care facility.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care administration, Gerontology or a related field.
  • 5+ years experience as an Administrator in a residential setting for older adults
  • Ohio Nursing Home Administrator License preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or religious organization strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Catholic Church structures and teaching preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides oversight of all services offered to the sisters and oversight of business aspects of the convent, including property management for the campus.
  • Collaborates with managers, local ministers and finance in providing input for departmental and capital budgets.
  • Collaborates with the Nurse Care Manager and Health Nurse to ensure the provision of quality care.
  • Coordinates, directs and supervises the quality and effectiveness of services including healthcare delivery, support services, sisters services, dining, housekeeping and facilities.
  • Collaborates with managers and HR to ensure appropriate staffing levels and employee relations issues as needed.
  • Represents SFP and campus, serving as primary contact for community/public needs or concerns.

The Jesuit Spiritual Center, a Catholic retreat center, in Milford, Ohio seeks college graduates interested in pursuing ministry as part of the Ignite Missionary Program. This is a 1 – 2 year paid program working as a member of the Youth Ministry team. Missionaries live in an intentional faith community on the grounds of the Center in the renovated historic Rock House and receive health care, meals, and a personal stipend. They will develop skills in retreat ministry including planning, preparing, and facilitating youth retreats, leading small and large group activities. Missionaries will also have the opportunity to make the 19th Annotation of the Spiritual Exercises, receive spiritual formation, attend professional conferences, receive private music lessons, and gain non-profit leadership and business experience.

The Business Manager is an administrator in support of the Pastor’s responsibilities to the parish.  The administrator is a steward of the financial, personnel, and physical resources of the parish.

Major Responsibilities

  • Managing all aspects of the financial management of the parish, including the church, school, and miscellaneous other parish organizations
  • Leading the human resource function of the parish including hiring, personnel management, and supervision of various departmental employees
  • Managing all physical facilities of the church and school
  • Administering many different aspects of managing the parish on a day-to-day basis

Key Skill, Knowledge and/or Abilities

  • College degree desired and/or five to ten (5-10) years ministry experience
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Good quantitative analytical skills, including financial management
  • Excellent communication, organization, and facilitation skills
  • Comfortable with computer, including ability to manage online parish systems
  • Some experience with facilities management
  • Some supervisory experience
  • Leadership, facilitating and consulting skills
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
