The Community of the Good Shepherd located at 8815 E. Kemper Road is looking for a part-time Coordinator of Outreach Ministries. The Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between the parish and the archdiocesan Social Action and Mission Office, and other congregations on areas related to service and social action.
  • Respond to requests from individuals and organizations inside and outside the parish seeking material and financial donations.
  • Responsible for the coordination of an overall outreach calendar and the development/discerning of prospective new outreach ministries and/or events.
  • Coordinate and support the outreach ministries ensuring that they have the essential ingredients to be successful, e.g., the right information, encouragement, budget.
  • Communicate outreach needs in relation to natural disasters and other emergency conditions to provide timely assistance to those in need.
  • Collaborate with the department director in coordinating large and complex outreach related projects.
  • Attend meetings as needed.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the various outreach ministries of the parish.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Earth Shepherds group, Sanctity of Life Ministry, and prison ministry.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments as needed.
  • Publicize and promote existing outreach ministries.
  • Recruit, empower, motivate and support volunteers.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of a High School diploma is required.
  • Motivated for charitable service to others.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative setting with a large pastoral, administrative, and support staff.
  • Above average familiarity of the Catholic faith as it relates to “Catholic Social Teaching” along with familiarity with the local and national organizations serving in this area.
  • Must have ability to present oneself in a Christian and mature manner.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  •  Ability to deal with conflict and controversial subjects.
  •  Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  •  High level of independent thought and initiative.
  •  Must be dependable and have a strong sense of responsibility.

Working Environment

  • Total of 20 hours per week. Must have the ability to prioritize and be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.

The Uptown Catholic Parish Region of St. Monica – St. George Parish, Annunciation Parish & School, Holy Name Parish, Corryville Catholic Grade School, and the University of Cincinnati Newman Center,  is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the pastor and regional office which is located at St. Monica – St. George Parish.

Duties include:

  • Process incoming calls, messages, mail, email, and in-person visitors for the regional office
  • Regional Office Hours: 9-4 Monday through Friday
  • Administrative duties such as typing, copying, binding, scanning, etc.
  • Manage the online calendars for the region
  • Manage room reservations and keys for the region
  • Process and distribute internal communications, including correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes, etc.
  • Manage the Sacramental Records for the parishes – including updating with new sacramental information and providing sacramental records upon request
  • Maintain Mass intentions for the parishes
  • Order office, maintenance, and liturgical supplies for the parishes
  • Manage the scheduling of liturgical ministers for the parishes
  • Maintain the rental of parking spots at St. Monica St. George
  • Provide administrative assistance to the pastor via calendar management, email management, etc.

Necessary Skills:

The Director of Faith Formation administers (designs, develops, directs and evaluates) all parish catechetical and evangelizing programs for this parish of over 1700 families.  Through the religious education and sacramental preparation of our youth, this position builds lasting relationships with families, thus setting the stage for adult faith formation opportunities.

Experience with family catechesis and both digital and analog programming are essential elements of this position. Must be a Catholic in good standingBachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry, Religious Studies or equivalent required. Master’s Degree preferred. The Comboni Missionaries – North American Province seek a full-time Finance Director to plan, direct, and manage its financial and business affairs. We are a Catholic Religious Community dedicate to servings God’s poorest and most forgotten people around the world.

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THIS POSITION:

  1. Plan, direct, and manage the financial and business affairs of the Comboni Missionaries North American Province (NAP), in conjunction with the Provincial Treasurer.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Plan, direct, and manage the financial and business affairs of the NAP.
  2. Oversee the Communications, Development and Front Office staff.
  3. Collaborate with the Provincial Treasurer to manage the financial assets of the NAP, including but not limited to: the purchase and sale of property and vehicles, maintaining adequate insurance, and managing lease agreements.
  4. Serve as liaison between the NAP and its legal advisors and financial brokers on a variety of matters.
  5. Collaborate with the Mission Office Director to manage the financial assets of the Mission Office.
  6. Provide quarterly financial reports to the Finance Council, the Provincial Council, General Administration, and Members of the Province.
  7. Coordinate and prepare the annual budget for the NAP.
  8. Coordinate annual Audit or Review.
  9. Manage departmental budgets of the provincial offices and NAP communities.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field; or equivalent experience.
  2. Familiarity with general ledger programs, specifically Peachtree.
  3. Effective communicator, both written and oral.
  4. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and ability to foster teamwork.
  5. Knowledge of the financial workings of a non-profit organization, especially a religious community.
  6. Knowledge of Word-processing, Spreadsheets, and other standard office software.
  7. Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices.
  8. Organized and detail-oriented.
  9. Knowledge of the Catholic faith, commitment to Gospel values, and belief in the mission of the Comboni Missionaries.
  10. Flexible and able to adapt to the present situation.
  11. Ability to travel to NAP communities (5-percent) and some international travel (5-percent).
