The responsibilities of this position will include management of the parish calendar and the database of 1100 families, sacramental record keeping, bulletin editor, word processing, answering telephones, and greeting those who come to the door.

Requirements include strong organizational skills and attention to detail, an excellent and practiced familiarity with computers in particular Microsoft Word and Publisher, comfort with a busy office environment, and flexibility.  Must work well with others and have excellent people skills.  This position averages 30 hours a week with infrequent extra duties or hours as needed.

St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Taylor Creek is seeking a full time Maintenance/Custodian Position to perform duties for the parish buildings including the church, school, rectory, and cemetery.  The hours hired to work are a maximum of 40 hours per week with some occasional weekend responsibilities and on-call availability for emergencies. Responsibilities will include daily custodial duties,  troubleshooting, conducting preventative maintenance inspections.  Position also includes general maintenance including painting, and other minor repair work. This list is not inclusive of everything. 

Position requires the ability to lift 75 pounds, climb ladders, stand for long periods.  Qualified candidates must be able to maintain confidentiality, provide their own transportation for job-related responsibilities, work without immediate supervision, take initiative with direction from the pastor and business manager, collaborate with other staff members for the use of the facilities, and exhibit communication and collaboration skills. Frequently this person is the one whom people encounter at the parish; therefore, this person should also be friendly and welcoming.  Salary negotiable.

Are you excited about your Catholic faith?  Do you want to share this enthusiasm with the youth – the future of our church?  Our parishes are dynamic communities with a great potential to better reach out and serve our youth.  The South 1 Family of Parishes seeks a full-time Director of Youth and Young Adult Evangelization for St. Michael and St. Gabriel Churches.  This person will be responsible for a parish-based ministry to junior and senior high youth, along with outreach to college-age and young adults in these parishes, in collaboration with the Director of Youth Ministry at St. John Church. We are seeking a person to be active and visible with our students in St. Michael School, and to collaborate with St. Gabriel Consolidated School; to plan events integrating catechesis and service with social, community-building activities. They will foster close communication with families of youth and collaborate with sports teams and scouts, acting as staff liaison to the St. Michael Parish Boosters organization.  The director will continue to develop a ministry to young adults in the area, both those currently attending a university and those who have graduated, building on the progress which has already been made.  Other duties may be assigned as needed by the parish or discerned with the Pastor.  A Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Catechesis/Education, or a related field is preferred.  The applicant will need to be SafeParish compliant before beginning work.

The Family of Parishes including St. John Church, West Chester; St. Michael Church, Sharonville; and St. Gabriel Church, Glendale is seeking a Pastoral Associate to serve at St. Michael and St. Gabriel Churches 

The Pastoral Associate for Outreach assists the Pastor by leading and coordinating aspects of parish life other than liturgical and evangelization.  They are responsible for managing the budget in these areas.  They will be part of the parish staff in each parish as they work over the next several years to come together as a single parish entity.  Each and every staff member will have some responsibility for helping parishioners navigate the Beacons of Light pastoral initiative.   

Sacramental 

  • Baptismal preparation
    • Recruits, trains and guides baptismal preparation team 
    • Attends baptism preparation sessions; reviews and approves applications for baptism 
  • Marriage Preparation 
    • Coordinates and supports Fully Engaged Couples 
    • Recruit, train and support Marriage Mentor couples 
    • Oversees 25th/50th Anniversary celebration each Fall 
  • Visitation Ministry 
    • Coordinates the work of parish service to parishioners in hospitals, nursing and retirement homes, the homebound and communion calls 
    • Receives emergency calls from community, screens and passes those needing sacramental ministry to the pastor as appropriate
    • Makes visits to hospitals as appropriate 
  • RCIA  
    • Will collaborate with the RCIA teams at St. John and St. Gabriel Churches 

Pastoral 

  • Collaborates with the Pastor and the rest of the Pastoral Staff for the mission of the parish, including new initiatives as needed 
  • Serves as Staff Contact to the Community Outreach Commission 
    • provides guidance and support to the commission at St Michael 
    • build group at St. Gabriel  
  • Coordinates parish renewal efforts (e.g. Alpha or Welcome) 
  • Assists Stephen Ministry coordinator with the ministry in these two parishes 
  • Is present at Weekend Masses, especially at St. Michael and St. Gabriel 

 Position Requirements 

  • Bachelors Degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry or related field required; Masters Degree preferred 
  • Supervised employment experience in Ministry
  • Effective interpersonal and group leadership skills 
  • Experience in pastoral counseling/pastoral care 
  • Experience in managing budget 
  • Commitment to ongoing formation and education
